The American PopPack and the Dutch Vivia Ventures have developed EasyPop. It concerns a sachet that is easy to open and reclosable. This “Air-powered” sachet has been developed with foil producer OPACKGROUP and technology partner WatttronThe introduction took place at Interpack 2023 in Düsseldorf.

An air bubble at the top of the sachet acts as a lever that breaks the seal of the sachet when pressed. The EasyPop design thus offers controlled, leak-free dispensing and has a self-closing function.

Sauces and gels

The EasyPop sachet is suitable for liquid products with a wide range of viscosities for food and non-food products from 30 ml to 150 ml. The sachet is suitable for sauces, spices, personal care products or dairy products, cleaning products, energy gels, ointments and more.

Production in Houten

The prototypes of EasyPop sachets are currently being produced at the Research & Development facilities of Airofiller Equipment Solutions in Houten, the Netherlands.

The company forms the foil into a tube and seals the sachet at the top and applies the air bubble. The sachet remains open at the bottom, so that a producer can fill the packaging with product.

Watttron sealing technology

‘Thanks to Watttron’s technology, we can seal the bags at different temperatures, so that they open at the desired location,’ says Stephan de Lange of Airofiller. ‘At the opening they are therefore sealed less hot, so that the seal breaks there more quickly. This sachet is reclosable and easy to open.’
